Manifesto

a public declaration of intentions,

opinions,

objectives,

or motives,

as one issued by a government,

sovereign,

(a monarch; a king, queen, or other supreme ruler.)

or organization.

A mission statement

or other document

written and disseminated by an individual or group

to enumerate or expound

the guiding principles and beliefs

that inform their actions:

It wasn't just a statement of intentions to teach/preach.

It was a radical alteration to what was the Jewish faith at the time.

Introduction to the Sermon on the Mount

5 Now when Jesus saw the crowds,

he went up on a mountainside and sat down.

(Notice he got away from the crowd and went and sat down to be alone w his disciples at the time.)

His disciples came to him,

2 and he began to teach them.

The Beatitudes

He said:

3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

cf Matthew 25:34

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.

(When you dont have any place else to go and nothing else to loose, you still got a friend who will never leave you and one more place to go...On your knees accepting him...When there's nothing else left to loose...One more place to go...)

4 Blessed are those who mourn,

    for they will be comforted.

cf Psalm 37:11

But the meek will inherit the land

    and enjoy peace and prosperity.

(They shall be restored to their proper place w God.)

cf Romans 4:13

13 It was not through the law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith.

5 Blessed are the meek,

(Patiently Humble)

for they will inherit the earth.

(I've heard say:

Who wants the earth?

It's a mess etc...

For those who share in Christ coming perfect kingdom?

It will be restored back to its original state pre-fall.

And if you didnt believe it? Chose not to accept it?

You'll never have it.)

6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

(JUSTICE!)

    for they will be filled.

7 Blessed are the merciful,

for they will be shown mercy.

cf James 2:13

13 because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

8 Blessed are the pure in heart,

(WHAT ARE YOUR INTENTIONS EXACTLY?)

    for they will see God.

cf Romans 8:14

14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.

9 Blessed are the peacemakers,

for they will be called children of God.

(In this country?

No wonder we want the ten commandments on the school walls and not these.

Ones Jewish ones Christian BTW...

I'll ,let you try and figure out which is which.

Me neither and it's a shame.
Thank you Mr. Vonnegut)

10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

(Just about broke down in tears as pastor Bridgette was preaching...)

cf 1 Peter 3:14

But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed.

“Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.”

cf Matthew 25:34

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.

11“Blessed are you when people insult you,

persecute you

and falsely say all kinds of evil against you

because of me.

(Again, Just about broke down in tears as pastor Bridgette was preaching...

12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

(Again, Just about broke down in tears as pastor Bridgette was preaching...)
