On June 15th, 1978 while in #NYC on the Kaya tour, Bob Marley received the United Nations Peace Medal for his efforts to end the violence between warring political factions of Jamaica at the One Love Peace Concert in Kingston on April 22nd of that year. In one of the most impactful moments of both music and Jamaican history, Bob brought on stage the leaders of each party to shake hands in an unprecedented showing of Inity. The award was presented to Bob by the Senegalese Youth Ambassador to the UN, Mohmmadu 'Johnny' Seka "on behalf of 500 million Africans.
