3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. Cambridge Bible for Schools and Colleges Commentary:

“…According to the legend which it preserves, intermarriages took place between Heavenly Beings and mortal women.”

Commentators have often shrunk from the admission that this piece of mythology could have a place in the Hebrew Scriptures. Accordingly, very fanciful explanations have sometimes found favour; e.g. (a) “the sons of God” are the men of the upper classes, “the daughters of men” are “the women of the lower classes”; (b) “the sons of God” are “the sons of the god-fearing,” “the daughters of men” are “the daughters of the impious”; (c) “the sons of God” are “the descendants of Seth,” “the daughters of men” are “the women of the Cainite race.”

Such interpretations may be dismissed as arbitrary and non-natural: and they furnish no explanation of the inference in Genesis 6:4, that a race of giants or heroes was the progeny of these marriages. (Nor does it explain Numbers 13:33 “And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.”

 

Let us review also:

Job 2:1 On another day the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came with them to present himself before Him.

Job 38:7 while the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

 

As well as:

2^nd Peter 2:4 For if God did not spare the angels when they sinned, but cast them deep into hell, placing them in chains of darkness to be held for judgment. (The Saints (Us) do their judging BTW (1 Corinthians 6:3).

But angels can’t breed and have children you might say referencing:

“For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.” Christ (Not the rapture of the church, the resurrection, this is what we understood back in my days in Sunday school 50 years ago.)

Mark 12:25, Luke 20:35 say basically the same thing and those verses its all about relationships, not procreation.

There are several verses in the old testament alluding to when taking the land of Cannon to wipe out every man, every woman who had had sex w a man and every male child of certain tribes. IT WAS A GENE POOL ISSUE. The bloodline from Adam to Christ had to be kept pure.

·         Genesis 6:9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

·         Numbers 31:17-18 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. 18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!”

 

But wait a minute, the flood destroyed all flesh you may be saying, well lets look at

Genesis 6:7

And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh (spoke of in verse 7 man whom I have created) is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

(They were led astray into wickedness by a hybrid race of beings that God did not create, this is the delusion Missler spoke of above, that man could follow these beings into wickedness and nothing would happen to him…Opps…Human sacrifice, Infant sacrifice…Actual peoples who had actual souls BTW.

 

Genesis 6:17

And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh (again ref verse 7 “man whom I have created”, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and everything that is in the earth shall die. (They were underground remember verse 4: “There were giants in the earth in those days…”

Titans of Greek Mythology, these stories came from Near Eastern sources, the Hittite's (1894 BTW) had a race that were known to them as “the gods of down under” and the Hittites identified these gods with the Anunnaki, the Babylonian gods of the underworld…Okay?  Just on and on and on…Ref Rev 11? All see the two witnesses resurrected? 1894? Insane? Nowadays? Almighty…)

Point is, no other interpretation explains all of that (and lots of other stuff) except, “Sons of God” being angels. If a Preacher says a “Literal interpretation” needs to be considered first and foremost? Go right here with it then and ask him to explain it to you and wait and see his reaction.

 

 

 

TAKE this literal! This is everything. This happened first. This is the reason for the propagation of evil and wickedness in the world then and its why you need to understand it because the very same thing is going on right now this very second.

The early Church fathers took it literal, St Jude did. St peter did.

Irenaeus (An early church father) draws heavily on 1 Enoch 6-9 when he writes the following:

And wickedness very long-continued and widespread pervaded all the races of men, until very little seed of justice was in them. For unlawful unions came about on earth, as angels linked themselves with offspring of the daughters of men, who bore to them sons, who on account of their exceeding great were called Giants. The angels, then, brought to their wives as gifts teachings of evil, for they taught them the virtues of roots and herbs, and dyeing and cosmetics and discoveries of precious materials, love-philtes, hatreds, amours, passions, constraints of love, the bonds of witchcraft, every sorcery and idolatry, hateful to God; and when this was come into the world, the affairs of wickedness were propagated to overflowing, and those of justice dwindled to very little.(6)

Some have even argued they practiced genetic modification giving rise to the legends of half man half beast: The Centaur, the horse-man of Greek legend, Mermaids a creature with the head and upper body of a human woman and the lower body and tail of a fish, the Minotaur a creature that is part bull, part man, the Satyr, a creature who is part goat, part man. The sphinx a creature with the head of a human and the body and haunches of a lion and sometimes the wings of an eagle and tail of a snake.

Tatian, (7) Clement of Alexandria (8) and Tertullian (9) all echo Irenaeus’ statements and his use of 1 Enoch in attributing to the fallen angels the origin of the magic arts and cosmetics. It is not difficult to account for the influence of 1 Enoch on the early church writers. After all it was the only (what we now call) apocryphal book explicitly cited in the New Testament

The main peculiar aspects of the not-Qumranic units of 1 Enoch are the following: Cave 11, Aramaic, 100-300 AD, it was a copy probably of the original written in Geez a native sematic language of Ethiopia.

·         a Messiah called "Son of Man", with divine attributes, generated before the creation, who will act directly in the final judgment and sit on a throne of glory (1 Enoch 46:1-4, 48:2-7, 69:26- 29)[16]:562-563

·         the sinners usually seen as the wealthy ones and the just as the oppressed (a theme we find also in the Psalms of Solomon another apocryphal book ).

·         the concept of "End of Days" as the time of final judgment that takes the place of promised earthly rewards; [53]:92

 

So that why the Jewish didn’t want it out.

So what does all that mean? Means there was a hybrid race of beings that wasn’t supposed to be here causing evil to abound and multiply and man went right along with their delusions. It means there were reason(s) for the status quo of the day, be they Jewish or early Christian to want to suppress the book. (Personal opinion? The Ethiopic copy (from the original geez) should be added as an appendix, an addendum, you want Angelology and Demonology and a pre flood prophetic voice and a tour around the cosmos? Fact is there was one people that said no, we have this, we got it right, were gonna put it in our cannon (Bible). Enoch was Noah’s great grandfather, (7^th from Adam) he was from here, he wrote this here, in a native language and were gonna include it. This just happened to be the place where Christ last blood relative lived, ruled and died, (Halie Selassie) and the place with the earliest humanoid fragments were found, and some have argued where the garden of Eden was. I read once somewhere there was more water in Ethiopia than the entire rest of the African continent, in any event plenty of rivers, lakes etc.

Consider: Stonehenge, The pyramids, Easter Island, Nazca Lines, Great Zimbabwe, Nan Madol, Anunnaki, Greek/Roman Mythology etc… Man Beast hybrids…Genetic engineering anybody? We got any of that going on today you think? The  Human sacrifice, infanticide…etc Just to name a few…this is why the land of cannan was given over to the Israelites.

 

So now we have:

·         Physical evidence of an advanced civilizations/construction techniques that we still cant explain,

·         That there are the oral traditions passed down from generations from these geographic areas that usually involve “a strange people coming from far off” usually involving “magic” or strange powers.

·         Some sites (mysteries of mankind) involve large human burial sites (either from the construction workers themselves or from human sacrifice or both, these Hybrid beings were the very personification of evil, they had no concern whatsoever for existing human life.)

·         Almost all of these sites involve an having an advanced knowledge of astronomy, a lot of these sites themselves map out the stars etc…(Stonhenge type structures in Poland, Spain, NE US, lake Michican just turning up allover the place any more.)

·         and we have an ancient text (Bible) that said there was a race of hybrid Angel/Human beings on this earth and its early adherents didn’t question it, not a one of them, they accepted it as fact.

Compare that with the pure conjecture of us just happening to live in the one universe of untold trillions that it would take to have if the universe were an accident and that it just happens to be hospitable to life is another accident that is so unlikely to have ever happened as to be called a miracle even by some non-believers… ie the multiverse and remember:

Science the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation, experimentation, and the testing of theories against the evidence obtained.

Isaiah 43:18-20

So that’s the precedent, now on to the timeline.

Daniel 9:24-27

24 “Seventy ‘sevens’[a] are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish[b] transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy Place.[c]

25 “Know and understand this: From the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven ‘sevens,’ and sixty-two ‘sevens.’ It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble. 26 After the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the Anointed One will be put to death and will have nothing. [e] The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed. 27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’[f] In the middle of the ‘seven’[g] he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple[h] he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.[i]”[j]

What are the seventy weeks of Daniel?

ANSWER

The “seventy weeks” prophecy is one of the most significant and detailed Messianic prophecies of the Old Testament. It is found in Daniel 9. The chapter begins with Daniel praying for Israel, acknowledging the nation’s sins against God and asking for God’s mercy. As Daniel prayed, the angel Gabriel appeared to him and gave him a vision of Israel’s future. (True believers)

The Divisions of the 70 Weeks

In verse 24, Gabriel says, “Seventy ‘sevens’ are decreed for your people and your holy city.” Almost all commentators agree that the seventy “sevens” should be understood as seventy “weeks” of years, in other words, a period of 490 years. These verses provide a sort of “clock” that gives an idea of when the Messiah would come and some of the events that would accompany His appearance.

The prophecy goes on to divide the 490 years into three smaller units: one of 49 years, one of 434 years, and one 7 years. The final “week” of 7 years is further divided in half. Verse 25 says, “From the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven ‘sevens,’ and sixty-two ‘sevens.’” Seven “sevens” is 49 years, and sixty-two “sevens” is another 434 years: 49 years + 434 years = 483 years

 

The Purpose of the 70 Weeks

The prophecy contains a statement concerning God’s six-fold purpose in bringing these events to pass. Verse 24 says this purpose is 1) “to finish transgression,” 2) “to put an end to sin,” 3) “to atone for wickedness,” 4) “to bring in everlasting righteousness,” 5) “to seal up vision and prophecy,” and 6) “to anoint the most holy.”

Notice that these results concern the total eradication of sin and the establishing of righteousness. The prophecy of the 70 weeks summarizes what happens before Jesus sets up His millennial kingdom. Of special note is the third in the list of results: “to atone for wickedness.” Jesus accomplished the atonement for sin by His death on the cross.

Romans 3:25

25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement,[a] through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—

17 For this reason he had to be made like them,[a] fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.

 

The Fulfillment of the 70 Weeks

Gabriel said the prophetic clock would start at the time that a decree was issued to rebuild Jerusalem. From the date of that decree to the time of the Messiah would be 483 years. We know from history that the command to “restore and rebuild Jerusalem” was given by King Artaxerxes (ahr-tuh-zurk-seez) of Persia c. 444 B.C. (see Nehemiah 2:1-8).

The first unit of 49 years (seven “sevens”) covers the time that it took to rebuild Jerusalem, “with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble” (Daniel 9:25). This rebuilding is chronicled in the book of Nehemiah.

Converting the 360-day year used by the ancient Jews, 483 years becomes 476 years on our solar calendar. Adjusting for the switch from B.C. to A.D., 476 years after 444 B.C. places us at A.D. 33, which would coincide with Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem (Matthew 21:1–9). The prophecy in Daniel 9 specifies that, after the completion of the 483 years, “the Anointed One will be cut off” (verse 26). This was fulfilled when Jesus was crucified.

Daniel 9:26 continues with a prediction that, after the Messiah is killed, “the people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary.” This was fulfilled with the destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70. The “ruler who will come” is a reference to the Antichrist, who, it seems, will have some connection with Rome, since it was the Romans who destroyed Jerusalem. (Josephus a Jewish historian of the time who watched it wrote that it was Turkish conscripts from…Antioch (It was a home for persecuted Christians.

Acts 11:19, It was home to the first Gentile Church, Acts 11:20-21, It was where the name "Christian" originated  from, Acts 11:26, Barnabas and Paul ministered there. Acts 11:22-30,  Paul commissioned by the Church of, The church of Antioch was troubled by the Judaizers. Galatians 2:11-21 Paul Opposes Cephas (Peter) there. Acts 15:1-4  the site where Christians were first called Christians), the Romans were on strict orders to just subdue the rebellion not harm the temple as this would have made things much worse than need be.). It’s not Rome folks, it’s not the catholic church that’s the whore of babalyon, its not the EU,  the popes not the antichrist etc it will come from Turkey.

8 The beast, which you saw, once was, now is not, and yet will come up out of the Abyss and go to its destruction. The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast, because it once was, now is not, and yet will come.

9 “This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits. 10 They are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; but when he does come, he must remain for only a little while. 11 The beast who once was, and now is not, is an eighth king. He belongs to the seven and is going to his destruction.

Ruled over Jerusalem:

1)Egypt 2)Assyrians 3)Babylonians 4)Medo-Persians 5)Greek 6)Roman 7)Ottoman Turks 1493-1909 Armenian genocide? 1,000,000 Armenian Christians massacred. The Turks Still don't admit it to this day.

The Final Week of the 70 Weeks

Of the 70 “sevens,” 69 have been fulfilled in history. This leaves one more “seven” yet to be fulfilled. Most scholars believe that we are now living in a huge gap between the 69th week and the 70th week. The prophetic clock has been paused, as it were. The final “seven” of Daniel is what we usually call the tribulation period.

Daniel’s prophecy reveals some of the actions of the Antichrist, the “ruler who will come.” Verse 27 says, “He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’” However, “in the middle of the ‘seven,’ . . . he will set up an abomination that causes desolation” in the temple. Jesus warned of this event in Matthew 24:15 So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’[a] spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand—

After the Antichrist breaks the covenant with Israel, a time of “great tribulation” begins (, NKJV).(There’s a lil more to it than that in my view)

Daniel also predicts that the Antichrist will face judgment. He only rules “until the end that is decreed is poured out on him” (Daniel 9:27). God will only allow evil to go so far, and the judgment the Antichrist will face has already been planned out.

 

Conclusion

The prophecy of the 70 weeks is complex and amazingly detailed, and much has been written about it. Of course, there are various interpretations, but what we have presented here is the dispensational, premillennial view. One thing is certain: God has a time table, and He is keeping things on schedule. He knows the end from the beginning

(Isaiah 46:10

I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’), and we should always be looking for the triumphant return of our Lord (Revelation 22:7 “Look, I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll.”).

Well that’s just the old concept of the Zoroastrians, Millennialism (from millennium, Latin for "a thousand years") or chiliasm (kill-e-asm) belief in 6 1000 year cycles followed by a 7^th 1000 year of peace and harmony before final judgement blah blah blah…Omniscience yo as in the state of knowing everything.  As in:

Sept 23^rd 2017 IF? That repeats every 3000 years? 6000 years ago would have been at roughly the beginning of civilization on the earth? Mesopotamia, Indus valley, Peru, China, Egypt etc… 3000 years ago would have been the start of the technological age with the bronze age, increased crop production, tools, irrigation, bigger cities.

If were working on a bell curve here That’s birth and height 6000 years ago and 3000 years ago… So what was the significance on Sept 23 2017 then one might wanna ask. It ought to be pretty obvious by now in my assertation.

2nd peter 3:3-9

3 Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” 5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. (Notice all get judged the righteous for their heavenly rewards and the evil for the wicked they have done, but only the ungodly are destroyed and that is your souls eternal separation from God. God created your soul Genesis 2:7, He owns your soul Ezekiel 18:4 and he alone will Judge it Rev 20 11-15.)

8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Criterion: Rebellion, Man of lawlessness revealed, Temple rebuilt. 2 out of the three have happened. Last one isn’t far off.

Revealed: to make known through divine inspiration (Marriam Webster 1 definition).

Daniel 9:27

He (the antichrist) will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’[f] In the middle of the ‘seven’[g] he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple[h] he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.[i]

Not all inclusive, not gonna cover every lil thing, just trying to give people a better understanding of where we are and whats going on in your world and why. I hear lots of talk about what from preachers you tube IG, Conspiracy theorist, Alex Jones, Andrew tate etc…But I don’t hear the context of WHY is this all happening right now. Just trying to fill in some blanks and by no means is this complete, Im not trying to do 18 hours on the book of revelation maybe someday… but right now? With all the ignorance and confusion? Broad strokes so that people have at least a better concept.

 

A woe is a warning of impending destruction.

First woe

Revelation 9:12 The first woe is past; two other woes are yet to come. (Comes at the end of The locust of the deep, Luis Alonzo former Director Advanced Arial Threat Identification Program, (AATIP) told to quit investigating, that his supervisors knew what the UAP were, and that they were Satanic (common misconception, Interpreters bible, angelic two verses needed)

Second woe

Revelation 11:14 The second woe has passed; the third woe is coming soon. (Comes at the end of the two-witness saga, notice it never states explicitly in either case what the woes are or when they happen, only that they have passed…Don’t get to hung up on chronologies…they only apply in certain instances…that’s why this isn’t a timeline but a schematic…

For this reason, I attribute the financial crisis as the first woe and Covid as the second. Both were worldwide in scope and interrelated in nature, financial crisis = low interest rates, covid = print a bunch of $,  led to inflation, this will be the end of fiat currency paving the way for new economic system etc 666 Revelation 13…better explanation of all that?

But your so over our heads, were just not getting it, why is that?

Hosea's own marital experience in chapters 1-3 provided the basis for his message. Gomer's subsequent unfaithfulness portrayed the apostate condition resulting from Israel's unfaithfulness to God. The symbolic names of the children reflect God's displeasure and signify the withdrawal God's mercies from his covenant people.

The sinfulness of Israel and her religious and political leaders is clearly set forth with the warning of impending judgment, chapters 4-10. God's love for Israel, illustrated previously on a marital basis by Hosea, is projected on a paternal relationship in chapter 11. Israel is warned to repent with the promise of restoration. (Mississippi river is at 9 ft deep in places, Gods judgement has been decreed, its only a matter of executing it at this point.)

There was a conversation we had about unfaithfulness. Heartbroken etc, couldn’t understand it. It makes perfect sense now, put in the context listed above. A Time for Everything

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to die, a time to uproot, a time to kill, a time to tear down, a time to weep    a time to mourn, a time to scatter stones, a time to refrain from embracing, and a time to give up, a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to speak, and a time to hate and a time for war.

Ask yourself, Now what time do you really think it is? Some might say Im running people off, I say I’ll bring back more that were run off previously and bring more new in than were ever run off to start with would be my prediction.

 

“Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.” US killed 4.5 million post 9/11 but hypocrites go around talking about all life being sacred and the rights of the “unborn” those two things are just not reconcilable. Talk about hypocrites! Now were gonna give protections to sentient machines, Satan’s “henchmen” “unborn life” (there are many antichrist among you, 1 John 2:18) Makes me just wanna vomit always has go revisit Matthew 13:16-17, privilege of discipleship. (Not gonna see what I do).

John the Baptist Prepares the Way

7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? 8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. 9 And do not think you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. 10 The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”

The religious leaders of that day were overly legalistic (you have to do things exactly as we say or you are out ring a bell to anybody? What if I don’t live here? Do I still have to be a gun hording right wing white pro-birth member of the cult of the fetus to be a Christian?) Wanna talk about Corrupt?, 75? 80? Books and living a life of comfort… Matthew 11:8 If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear fine clothes are in kings’ palaces…and they’re hypocritical as well, 4.5 million dead, starting wars under false pretenses, sanctity of life they say,, don’t grow medicine in your own yard, take the opioids and become addicted and die of an OD, hey at least big pharma made their $ off of you for a while. Reconcile itanybody for me please, Im begging ya. Anybody know why the wind blew from the west yesterday? Ecc 11:5. Then don’t bother and try and tell me you know when God puts a soul in somebody and makes them human.

 

11 “I baptize you with[b] water for repentance… (You’d better change your ways and understand that the universe had a beginning and evolution doesn’t explain how life got here and nobody can explain the information in the DNA molecule, and the Anunnak were the fallen angels, they weren’t Gods etc…you’d better repent and turn it all over to him.)

Who chastised him JTB for saying and doing what he did? Hum? Anybody?

What did Christ himself say? I’ll tell you what he said, he said EXACTLY the same thing.

 

 

 

Matthew 23

A Warning Against Hypocrisy 7 woes to pharisees BTW. Completion.

25 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.

27 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. 28 In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

33 “You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? 34 Therefore I am sending you prophets and sages and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town. (Remember that, pursue from town to town, well get back to it here in a second.)

 

As for the one preparing Christ way? Always remember this, JTB went after the religious establishment of the day.

So what did Christ say about JTB?

Matthew 11:7-11. 7-11 😊.

7 As John’s disciples were leaving, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed swayed by the wind? 8 If not, what did you go out to see? 11 Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

12 From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven suffers violence,[a] and the violent are taking it by force.

(Book of Enouch? Jewish status quo? Christian wanting to water down much? Pharasies knew who he was and that their days were numbered…Patterns repeating…

Footnotes

The meaning of this difficult saying is probably that the opponents of Jesus are trying to prevent people from accepting the kingdom and to snatch it away from those who have received it. (Or getting it at all.)

Overly legalistic pharasies, corrupt clergy, sex abuse scandals and the coverups that follow, infiltrators with false teachings and false doctrines…all designed by Satan to keep you away from whats given to you freely.

 

So yeah, point is, A time for everything indeed, you gotta tear down the old before you can replace it with the new.

Therefore, I am sending you prophets and sages and teachers. (So much for the “there’s no prophets after John the Baptist argument. Prophetesses in book of Acts 21:9 and in Rev 11)

Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town.

The Rejection at Nazareth.

He came to Nazareth, where he had grown up, and went according to his custom into the synagogue on the sabbath day. He stood up to read and was handed a scroll of the prophet Isaiah. He unrolled the scroll and found the passage where it was written:

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor. (Spiritually poor) He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives (Captives to sin) and recovery of sight to the blind, (Spiritually blind) to let the oppressed go free, (By the shedding of his blood in atonement for humanities sins) and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord.” (It’s a new day and age now that I am here, salvation is available to those who would believe. and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,)

Lets review some of the footnotes on this passage…Why don’t we hear about it? He announces his ministry in his hometown and the only two verses Besides saying he is fulfilling Isaiah prophecy? The only other two verses he quotes are God showing his mercy to non-jews. The non-Jews today to me? Parallel all the people who either gave up on church and quit, or never went in the first place, or went and never really believed. (Opps to that last group, darkest hell…)

You’re witnessing the same thing right now. Non-believers and non-church goers are saying wait a minute, this guy is making perfect sense (Cause of the spirit…Not me etc. and the people snoozing in church for 40 years checking their watch every 10 minutes to see if its time for lunch yet and complaining the pastor when over 5 minutes? They’re telling theirs selves, nah, it can’t be him/them etc.

The True church will believe in the two witnesses after they are resurrected and will be protected from God’s wrath during the second half of the tribulation period. This is the whole thing here: “John comes first and restores all things”

When we are married at New Chapel church? I will read aloud and pronounce the following fulfilled:

Revelation 11:3-4 And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.” (In mourning) 4 They are “the two olive trees” and the two lampstands, and “they stand before the Lord of the earth.”

Haven’t been with Christ in the flesh but only in the spirit to those who would say how dare you? I respond: how else could this boldness be preached with the knowledge and understanding exhibited except through the power of the spirit?

 

Luke 4:25–26 The references to Elijah and Elisha serve several purposes in this episode: they emphasize Luke’s portrait of Jesus as a prophet like Elijah and Elisha; they help to explain why the initial admiration of the people turns to rejection; and they provide the scriptural justification for the future Christian mission to the Gentiles. (Salvation was opened up to all).

Luke 4:26 A widow in Zarephath in the land of Sidon: like Naaman the Syrian in Lk 4:27, a non-Israelite becomes the object of the prophet’s ministry.

Our ministry is for church goers who would chose to believe in us, (fortifying the faithful), grow in their faith (Milk or solid food time?) and for those who have been turned away by what the church has become (an overly legalistic, corrupt self-contained monetary ecosystem) and much like “a non-Israelite becomes the object of the prophet’s ministry.” Those who have never heard, believed in or been involved in church are who our ministry will appeal to and the time just couldn’t be more right and through the power of the spirit Ive been writing about it for years.

(They have a larger more modern navy than we do BTW). They didn’t just make the ships and the missiles, they made the infrastructure to be able to continue to make them. They used to send human wave after human wave, this is a tactic of theirs, they just eventually overcome you by sheer numbers, who cares how many die when you have 3x as many people as your adversary right? Just keep sending wave after wave.  Now they can exercise the same exact tactic except with ships and missiles. They know they won’t have this advantage forever. Their military leaders have already signaled they are ready.

So why isnt the same standard applied to those works that are applied to the New testament? Now lets throw in a “suppressed book” (Book of Enoch, 7^th from Adam and Noahs great grandfather 3 removed) that had reasons for the Jewish status quo to want to suppress it:

That same book had reason for early Christians to want to reject it:

·         That very same book of which a copy of which was found written in Aramaic in cave 11 of the Qumran caves and was sold to “Investors” (ie European bankers) and to this day has never seen been examined by scholars. (100-300 AD.) Illuminati anybody?

·         That same book had numerous copies floating around, the work of Satan, to many different versions of things going around muddies the waters and you can’t tell whats true, Satan didn’t just start that tactic with social media folks he’s been doing it for a long time.

One group, One group of people (Ethiopic Orthodox Christians) saying: “NO! We got this right, he (Enoch) lived here, he was one of us, he wrote that book in Geez a native semantic language of this land and they have been sticking to their guns for 1000’s of years.

This just happens to be the same place (Ethiopia) where Christ last blood relative (Halie Selassie) lived, ruled and died, and just happens to be the place where the earliest humanoid remains have been found?

And this book explains it all, IF you would but accept it.

 

Follow others? Why? How about I just keep following God Almighty? Somebody else lived more of a life of piety, prayer and penitence (Performing menial task graciously BTW, Los Amigos grease trap anybody?) for the last 8 years, showing you an example of what was expected when the time comes? Anybody, selling you anything other than salvation for your eternal soul is flat out a false prophet misleading you straight to the gates of hell. Period. Somebody else gotta better explanation for the increase in wickedness in the world post Covid? We’ve already seen this TV show. (Humaniod AI, 40 years ahead of its time, google fired three AI ethicist, two after warning about its dangers, one after he said a LLM had become sentient, Their lawyers changed the wording on AI research papers warning of their dangers, and they are actively trying to get laws passed for technology they say isnt available yet? CYA much? Ask yourself Are the self-promoting “Media personalities” and conspiracy theorist etc) relating it to a proper interpretation of Genesis 6? If not? They’re not giving you the full picture of what is going on in your world and the WHY it’s happening. If I’m going to follow somebody else? Do they have a briefcase full of notes from the last 6/7 years or so and a small personal library and have been “eating meat (we been off milk a good bit over here) and spiting fire” with a commission from the Almighty to “restore all things” prior to the second coming? If it was anything else but a book from your creator explaining how best to live your life with him you’d accept it hook line and sinker without more years of torment to come and without much proper examination. The hostility towards it, proves its truthfulness. But your hearts have been hardened and your eyes blinded by Satan and you’re just to prideful and arrogant to accept it.

Why did God send the judgment of the Flood in the days of Noah? Far more than simply a historical issue, the unique events leading to the Flood are a prerequisite to understanding the prophetic implications of our Lord's predictions regarding His Second Coming.1

The strange events recorded in Genesis 6 were understood by the ancient rabbinical sources, as well as the Septuagint translators, as referring to fallen angels procreating weird hybrid offspring with human women-known as the "Nephilim." So it was also understood by the early church fathers. These bizarre events are also echoed in the legends and myths of every ancient culture upon the earth: the ancient Greeks, the Egyptians, the Hindus, the South Sea Islanders, the American Indians, and virtually all the others.

However, many students of the Bible have been taught that this passage in Genesis 6 actually refers to a failure to keep the "faithful" lines of Seth separate from the "worldly" line of Cain. The idea has been advanced that after Cain killed Abel, the line of Seth remained separate and faithful, but the line of Cain turned ungodly and rebellious. The "Sons of God" are deemed to refer to leadership in the line of Seth; the "daughters of men" is deemed restricted to the line of Cain. The resulting marriages ostensibly blurred an inferred separation between them. (Why the resulting offspring are called the "Nephilim" remains without any clear explanation.)

Since Jesus prophesied, "As the days of Noah were, so shall the coming of the Son of Man be,"2 it becomes essential to understand what these days included.

 

Origin of the Sethite View

It was in the 5th century a.d. that the "angel" interpretation of Genesis 6 was increasingly viewed as an embarrassment when attacked by critics. (Furthermore, the worship of angels had begun within the church. Also, celibacy had also become an institution of the church. The "angel" view of Genesis 6 was feared as impacting these views.)

Celsus and Julian the Apostate used the traditional "angel" belief to attack Christianity. Julius Africanus resorted to the Sethite interpretation as a more comfortable ground. Cyril of Alexandria also repudiated the orthodox "angel" position with the "line of Seth" interpretation. Augustine also embraced the Sethite theory and thus it prevailed into the Middle Ages. It is still widely taught today among many churches who find the literal "angel" view a bit disturbing. There are many outstanding Bible teachers who still defend this view.

 

Problems with the Sethite View

Beyond obscuring a full understanding of the events in the early chapters of Genesis, this view also clouds any opportunity to apprehend the prophetic implications of the Scriptural allusions to the "Days of Noah."3 Some of the many problems with the "Sethite View" include the following:

 

1. The Text Itself

Substantial liberties must be taken with the literal text to propose the "Sethite" view. (In data analysis, it is often said that "if you torture the data severely enough it will confess to anything.")

The term translated "the Sons of God" is, in the Hebrew, B'nai HaElohim, "Sons of Elohim," which is a term consistently used in the Old Testament for angels,4 and it is never used of believers in the Old Testament. It was so understood by the ancient rabbinical sources, by the Septuagint translators in the 3rd century before Christ, and by the early church fathers. Attempts to apply this term to "godly leadership" is without Scriptural foundation.5

 

The "Sons of Seth and daughters of Cain" interpretation strains and obscures the intended grammatical antithesis between the Sons of God and the daughters of Adam. Attempting to impute any other view to the text flies in the face of the earlier centuries of understanding of the Hebrew text among both rabbinical and early church scholarship. The lexicographical antithesis clearly intends to establish a contrast between the "angels" and the women of the Earth.

If the text was intended to contrast the "sons of Seth and the daughters of Cain," why didn't it say so? Seth was not God, and Cain was not Adam. (Why not the "sons of Cain" and the "daughters of Seth?" There is no basis for restricting the text to either subset of Adam's descendants. Further, there exists no mention of daughters of Elohim.)

And how does the "Sethite" interpretation contribute to the ostensible cause for the Flood, which is the primary thrust of the text? The entire view is contrived on a series of assumptions without Scriptural support.

The Biblical term "Sons of Elohim" (that is, of the Creator Himself), is confined to the direct creation by the divine hand and not to those born to those of their own order.6 In Luke's genealogy of Jesus, only Adam is called a "son of God."7 The entire Biblical drama deals with the tragedy that humankind is a fallen race, with Adam's initial immortality forfeited. Christ uniquely gives them that receive Him the power to become the sons of God.8 Being born again of the Spirit of God, as an entirely new creation,9 at their resurrection they alone will be clothed with a building of God10 and in every respect equal to the angels.11 The very term oiketerion, alluding to the heavenly body with which the believer longs to be clothed, is the precise term used for the heavenly bodies from which the fallen angels had disrobed.12

The attempt to apply the term "Sons of Elohim" in a broader sense has no textual basis and obscures the precision of its denotative usage. This proves to be an assumption which is antagonistic to the uniform Biblical usage of the term.

 

2. The Daughters of Cain

The "Daughters of Adam" also does not denote a restriction to the descendants of Cain, but rather the whole human race is clearly intended. These daughters were the daughters born to the men with which this very sentence opens:

And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. Genesis 6:1,2

It is clear from the text that these daughters were not limited a particular family or subset, but were, indeed, from (all) the Benoth Adam, "the daughters of Adam." There is no apparent exclusion of the daughters of Seth. Or were they so without charms in contrast with the daughters of Cain? All of Adam's female descendants seem to have been involved. (And what about the "sons of Adam?" Where do they, using this contrived dichotomy, fit in?)

Furthermore, the line of Cain was not necessarily known for its ungodliness. From a study of the naming of Cain's children, many of which included the name of God,13 it is not clear that they were all necessarily unfaithful.

 

3. The Inferred Lines of Separation

The concept of separate "lines" itself is suspect and contrary to Scripture.14 National and racial distinctions were plainly the result of the subsequent intervention of God in Genesis 11, five chapters later. There is no intimation that the lines of Seth and Cain kept themselves separate nor were even instructed to. The injunction to remain separate was given much later.15 Genesis 6:12 confirms that all flesh had corrupted His way upon the earth.

 

4. The Inferred Godliness of Seth

There is no evidence, stated or implied, that the line of Seth was godly. Only one person was translated from the judgment to come (Enoch) and only eight were given the protection of the ark. No one beyond Noah's immediate family was accounted worthy to be saved. In fact, the text implies that these were distinct from all others. (There is no evidence that the wives of Noah's sons were from the line of Seth.) Even so, Gaebelein observes, "The designation 'Sons of God' is never applied in the Old Testament to believers," whose sonship is "distinctly a New Testament revelation."16

The "Sons of Elohim" saw the daughters of men that they were fair and took them wives of all that they chose. It appears that the women had little say in the matter. The domineering implication hardly suggests a godly approach to the union. Even the mention that they saw that they were attractive seems out of place if only normal biology was involved. (And were the daughters of Seth so unattractive?)

It should also be pointed out that the son of Seth himself was Enosh, and there is textual evidence that, rather than a reputation for piety, he seems to have initiated the profaning of the name of God.17

If the lines of Seth were so faithful, why did they perish in the flood?

 

5. The Unnatural Offspring

The most fatal flaw in the specious "Sethite" view is the emergence of the Nephilim as a result of the unions. (Bending the translation to "giants" does not resolve the difficulties.) It is the offspring of these peculiar unions in Genesis 6:4 which seems to be cited as a primary cause for the Flood.

Procreation by parents of differing religious views do not produce unnatural offspring. Believers marrying unbelievers may produce "monsters," but hardly superhuman, or unnatural, children! It was this unnatural procreation and the resulting abnormal creatures that were designated as a principal reason for the judgment of the Flood.

The very absence of any such adulteration of the human genealogy in Noah's case is also documented in Genesis 6:9: Noah's family tree was distinctively unblemished. The term used, tamiym, is used for physical blemishes.18

 

Why were the offspring uniquely designated "mighty" and "men of reknown?" This description characterizing the children is not accounted for if the fathers were merely men, even if godly.

A further difficulty seems to be that the offspring were only men; no "women of reknown" are mentioned. (Was there a chromosome deficiency among the Sethites? Were there only "Y" chromosomes available in this line?)19

 

6. New Testament Confirmations

"In the mouths of two or three witnesses every word shall be established."20 In Biblical matters, it is essential to always compare Scripture with Scripture. The New Testament confirmations in Jude and 2 Peter are impossible to ignore.21

For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell [Tartarus], and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; 2 Peter 2:4-5

Peter's comments even establishes the time of the fall of these angels to the days of the Flood of Noah.

Even Peter's vocabulary is provocative. Peter uses the term Tartarus, here translated "hell." This is the only place that this Greek term appears in the Bible. Tartarus is a Greek term for "dark abode of woe"; "the pit of darkness in the unseen world." As used in Homer's Iliad, it is "...as far beneath hades as the earth is below heaven`."22 In Greek mythology, some of the demigods, Chronos and the rebel Titans, were said to have rebelled against their father, Uranus, and after a prolonged contest they were defeated by Zeus and were condemned into Tartarus.

The Epistle of Jude23 also alludes to the strange episodes when these "alien" creatures intruded themselves into the human reproductive process:

 

And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Jude 6,7

The allusions to "going after strange flesh," keeping "not their first estate," having "left their own habitation," and "giving themselves over to fornication," seem to clearly fit the alien intrusions of Genesis 6. (The term for habitation, oivkhth,rion, refers to their heavenly bodies from which they had disrobed.24)

These allusions from the New Testament would seem to be fatal to the "Sethite" alternative in interpreting Genesis 6. If the intercourse between the "sons of God" and the "daughters of men" were merely marriage between Sethites and Cainites, it seems impossible to explain these passages, and the reason why some fallen angels are imprisoned and others are free to roam the heavenlies.

 

7. Post-Flood Implications

The strange offspring also continued after the flood: "There were Nephilim in the earth in those days, and also after that..."25 The "Sethite" view fails to meaningfully address the prevailing conditions "also after that." It offers no insight into the presence of the subsequent "giants" in the land of Canaan.

One of the disturbing aspects of the Old Testament record was God's instructions, upon entering the land of Canaan, to wipe out every man, woman, and child of certain tribes inhabiting the land. This is difficult to justify without the insight of a "gene pool problem" from the remaining Nephilim, Rephaim, et al., which seems to illuminate the difficulty.

 

8. Prophetic Implications

Another reason that an understanding of Genesis 6 is so essential is that it also is a prerequisite to understanding (and anticipating) Satan's devices26 and, in particular, the specific delusions to come upon the whole earth as a major feature of end-time prophecy.27 We will take up these topics in Part 2, "The Return Of The Nephilim.")

 

 In Summary

If one takes an integrated view of the Scripture, then everything in it should "tie together." It is the author's view that the "Angel View," however disturbing, is the clear, direct presentation of the Biblical text, corroborated by multiple New Testament references and was so understood by both early Jewish and Christian scholarship; the "Sethite View" is a contrivance of convenience from a network of unjustified assumptions antagonistic to the remainder of the Biblical record.

It should also be pointed out that most conservative Bible scholars accept the "angel" view.28 Among those supporting the "angel" view are: G. H. Pember, M. R. DeHaan, C. H. McIntosh, F. Delitzsch, A. C. Gaebelein, A. W. Pink, Donald Grey Barnhouse, Henry Morris, Merril F. Unger, Arnold Fruchtenbaum, Hal Lindsey, and Chuck Smith, being among the best known.

For those who take the Bible seriously, the arguments supporting the "Angel View" appear compelling. For those who indulge in a willingness to take liberties with the straightforward presentation of the text, no defense can prove final. (And greater dangers than the implications attending these issues await them!)

Chapter 5

The ‘Sons of God’ (Genesis 6:1-4) Robert Bradshaw

Judging by the number of times the early church fathers referred to Genesis 6:1-4 it would appear that the passage stirred their interest then as much as it does modern readers. The identity of the “Sons of God” was clearly a controversial subject. In the early centuries of the church there were three main positions to choose from (unlike today when the number has increased to nine or more). A few Jewish sources (Symmachus, Aquila and the Targums) identify the “Sons of God” as the sons of nobles or kings who married below their rank. (1) This view has no support in the text of Genesis and is not found in the writing of the early Christians. For them the choice appears have been between identifying the “Sons of God” as fallen angels or as the descendants of Seth.

The church fathers were far from united when it came to the origin of the fallen angels (See Table 5.1). Some held that fell at about the same time as Satan (whether this is before the creation of the world or after). Others linked the fall to the events described in Genesis 6, which also goes some way to explain why they considered this passage so important. Justin Martyr (2) and Lactantius (3) believed in the latter, identifying two classes of fallen spirits: the fallen angels and their offspring. Tertullian likewise believed that some of the angels fell through lust for women and referred to their offspring as a “more wicked demon-brood”. (4) Irenaeus’ writings are ambiguous on the subject but appear to indicate that he believed in two separate angelic falls. (5) In one of the earliest references to the passage Irenaeus draws heavily on 1 Enoch 6-9 when he writes the following:

And wickedness very long-continued and widespread pervaded all the races of men, until very little seed of justice was in them. For unlawful unions came about on earth, as angels linked themselves with offspring of the daughters of men, who bore to them sons, who on account of their exceeding great were called Giants. The angels, then, brought to their wives as gifts teachings of evil, for they taught them the virtues of roots and herbs, and dyeing and cosmetics and discoveries of precious materials, love-philtes, hatreds, amours, passions, constraints of love, the bonds of witchcraft, every sorcery and idolatry, hateful to God; and when this was come into the world, the affairs of wickedness were propagated to overflowing, and those of justice dwindled to very little.(6)

Tatian, (7) Clement of Alexandria (8) and Tertullian (9) all echo Irenaeus’ statements and his use of 1 Enoch in attributing to the fallen angels the origin of the magic arts and cosmetics. It is not difficult to account for the influence of 1 Enoch on the early church writers. After all it was the only (what we now call) apocryphal book explicitly cited in the New Testament (Jude 14, cf. 1 Enoch 1:9).(10) The Ethiopian church accepted the book into its canon(11) and the writer of the Epistle of Barnabas approved of it,(12) as did Tertullian,(13) even though the majority rejected it.(14) Interestingly some of the later Fathers doubted the canonicity of Jude precisely because it cited apocryphal books such as Enoch.(15) The influence of the Book of Enoch and the popularity of the Septuagint (which translated “sons of God” as “angels”) in the early church may explain why no Christian writer challenged the view that the Sons of God were angels until the third century AD. With the rejection of the canonicity of Enoch there was a corresponding decline in the ‘angel’ interpretation of the ‘sons of God’. In a similar way the idea of a fall (or second fall) of the angels prior to the Flood drops out of theological history after the time of Lactantius. From that point on the view that the Sons of God were purely human - the descendants of Seth - began to dominate. As can be seen from Table 5.2 the other early references to the Sethite theory were found in Jewish sources that few of the early Christian would have had access to. It was not until after the middle of the second century that a Christian writer (Julius Africanus) suggested that the 'sons of God' were Sethites.

 

 

 

 

 

Many writers including Tatian and Athenagoras, saw extrabiblical support for the angel interpretation of the Sons of God in the Greek legends of the gods having children by human women. Such references demonstrated to them both the veracity of the biblical account and the corruption of the pagan versions of the events it described.(16) Eusebius believed that the son’s of God of Genesis 6 were fallen angels and found further evidence for this in the writings of the Greeks.(17) These beings were openly hostile to God and were responsible for introducing mankind to the black arts of witchcraft and sorcery, bringing the whole of the human race under judgement. This judgement took the form of the Flood, which destroyed everyone one earth, except Noah and his family.(18) It is noteworthy that Eusebius sees a strong connection here between the activities of the ‘Son’s of God’ and the Flood that followed. John Chrysostom, for his part, argued that the ‘sons of God’ of Genesis 6:1-4 were the descendants of Seth, pointing out (incorrectly) that the Bible does not refer to angels by that name (cf. Job 1:6; 2:1).(19) Augustine accepted that not only were those who lived before the flood long-lived,(20) but they were of great size. In support of this Augustine described how he himself found a human(?) molar on the shore of Utica 100 times larger than one of his and noted the discoveries of giant’s tombs, citing Virgil as his source.(21)

Today the debate seems to have gone full circle. with the majority of modern scholars now holding to the angel interpretation. This view finds support in Psalm 29:1; Job 1:6; 2:1; & 38:7 and New Testament references to the antediluvian world in Jude 6, 1 Peter 3:19-20 and 2 Peter 2:4. Those who reject this identification point to a saying of Jesus found in all three synoptic gospels which they claim proves that angels are sexless, and therefore incapable of interbreeding with human women under any circumstances (Matt. 22:30; Mark 12:24-25; Luke 20:35-36). F.B. Huey in his discussion of these passages writes:

 

...a careful, unprejudiced reading of that text reveals that Jesus was making an analogy. He was not talking about procreation but about relationships. He was saying that the relationship of resurrected Christians will be different from the relationship experienced in marriage on earth. He was no more saying that angels are sexless than he was teaching that resurrected Christians will be neither male nor female.(22)

In an important article on the subject, W.A. van Gemeren suggests that evangelicals have resisted the identification of the sons of God with angels not on linguistic grounds, but because of difficulties in accepting the possibility of interbreeding between angels and mankind. (23) Robert C. Newman points out some interesting facts concerning the current debate:

The present form of the debate is rather paradoxical. On the one hand, liberal theologians, who deny the miraculous, claim the account pictures a supernatural liaison between divine beings and humans. Conservative theologians, though believing implicitly in angels and demons, tend to deny the passage any such import. The liberal position is more understandable with the realization that they deny the historicity of the incident and see it as a borrowing from pagan

mythology. The rationale behind the conservative view is more complex: though partially a reaction to liberalism, the view is older than liberal theology.(24)

Aramaic Enoch Scroll

Qumran

The Aramaic Enoch Scroll is a non-published, complete copy of the Book of Enoch which is rumored to be in possession of private investors.

There is no proof of its existence, but according to the former chief editor of the official Dead Sea Scrolls editorial team, John Strugnell (deceased 2007), the scroll is well preserved, and microfilmed. Strugnell said that he was shown the microfilm in 1990, during the Kuwait crisis, but he was never able to buy it for the editorial team.[1]

According to Strugnell, the scroll was found in the Qumran "Cave 11", in 1956, together with the other, already publicized scrolls and fragments. This cave was found by the same Bedouin, Abu Dahoud, who found the first cave in 1947.[2]

Apart from this and another scroll from Cave 11 that he claimed to have seen, Strugnell had heard Gerald Lankester Harding, the director of Jordan's Department of Antiquities (1936–1956), speak of at least two, never-published scrolls from the same find. These, or some of them, were at that time (the Kuwait crisis) about to be bought by private, probably European collectors or bankers. The reason for buying them was for investments. Although Strugnell had arrangements with serious buyers who would publicize the scrolls, he was not able to convince the owners to sell.[1][3]

Abu Dahoud has confirmed that he and ten other men found the cave, and sold the scrolls to many different people.[2]

Importance

The importance of a complete Aramaic manuscript of the Book of Enoch could be immense. Michael Wise, a DSS scholar, writes: "No trace of the Parables of Enoch has been discovered at Qumran, and it is widely considered today to be a composition of the later first century C.E. If a pre-Christian copy of the Parables were ever discovered, it would create a sensation"[4]

The Parables is a part of the Ethiopic translation of the Book of Enoch. It is disputed how old it is, and whether it was originally a part of Enoch. Currently, most scholars believe it to be pre-Christian.[5]

1. There I beheld the Ancient of days, whose head was like white wool, and with him another, whose countenance resembled that of man. His countenance was full of grace, like that of one of the holy angels. Then I inquired of one of the angels, who went with me, and who showed me every secret thing, concerning this Son of man; who he was; whence he was; and why he accompanied the Ancient of days.

2. He answered and said to me, This is the Son of man, to whom righteousness belongs; with whom righteousness has dwelt; and who will reveal all the treasures of that which is concealed: for the Lord of spirits has chosen him; and his portion has surpassed all before the Lord of spirits in everlasting uprightness.

3. This Son of man, whom thou beholdest, shall raise up kings and the mighty from their couches, and the powerful from their thrones; shall loosen the bridles of the powerful, and break in pieces the teeth of sinners.

4. He shall hurl kings from their thrones and their dominions; because they will not exalt and praise him, nor humble themselves before him, by whom their kingdoms were granted to them. The countenance likewise of the mighty shall He cast down, filling them with confusion. Millennialism (from millennium, Latin for "a thousand years") or chiliasm (from the Greek equivalent) is a belief which is advanced by some religious denominations. According to this belief, a Golden Age will occur or a Paradise will be established on Earth prior to the Last Judgment and the future eternal state of the "world to come".
