Rise up!

In a stairway on the stone walk

In a doorstep, golden light

In a cold wind blowing

In the danger, out of the storm

I remain in you

I will recall this storm

This storm recalls you

Rise up, rise up, rise up, rise up

Rise up, rise up, rise up, rise up

Rise up, rise up, rise up, rise up

Rise up, rise up, rise up, rise up

In the lands you have a garden

In the garden it's going dark

In the cold a wind blowing

In the cold wind blowing

I am in this doorway

Feel her in this doorway

Golden hills and golden memories

I follow the ocean wherever it goes

In the doorway I don't know where to start

Emotion in the cold

In the day, darkest night

In the darkest night I know

I stumble in these shoes

Ah, this dark night

Rise up, rise up, rise up, rise up

Rise up, rise up, rise up, rise up

Rise up, rise up, rise up, rise up

Rise up, rise up, rise up, rise up

Rise up, rise up, rise up, rise up

Rise up, rise up, rise up, rise up

Rise up, rise up, rise up, rise up

Rise up, rise up, rise up, rise up

Go in the lonely, lone

Loneliness a path to go

Only if you know

Our love helps me know

Your love will help me

Discover you beneath the thing

Only if you know

Only rise up, rise up

"I remain in you"

John 15:4

Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

"Feel her in this doorway"

Proverbs 4:8-9

"Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
Exalt her (wisdom), and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.

Proverbs 8:22-31

"I, wisdom, was with the Lord when he began his work, long before he made anything else. I was created in the very beginning, even before the world began. I was born before there were oceans, or springs overflowing with water, before the hills were there, before the mountains were put in place. God had not made the earth or fields, not even the first dust of the earth. I was there when God put the skies in place, when he stretched the horizon over the oceans, when he made the clouds above and put the deep underground springs in place. I was there when he ordered the sea not to go beyond the borders he had set. I was there when he laid the earth's foundation. I was like a child by his side. I was delighted every day, enjoying his presence all the time, enjoying the whole world, and delighted with all its people.

"I follow the ocean wherever it goes"

Habakkuk 2:14

For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord

as the waters cover the sea.

"darkest night

In the darkest night I know"

"In the lands you have a garden

In the garden it's going dark"

Christian mysticism

"The Spanish had Ignatius Loyola, whose Spiritual Exercises were designed to open people to a receptive mode of consciousness in which they can experience God through careful spiritual direction and through understanding how the mind connects to the will and how to weather the experiences of spiritual consolation and desolation; Teresa of Ávila, who used the metaphors of watering a garden and walking through the rooms of a castle to explain how meditation leads to union with God; and John of the Cross, who used a wide range of biblical and spiritual influences both to rewrite the traditional "three ways" of mysticism after the manner of bridal mysticism and to present the two "dark nights": the dark night of the senses and the dark night of the soul, during which the individual renounces everything that might become an obstacle between the soul and God and then experiences the pain of feeling separated from God, unable to carry on normal spiritual exercises, as it encounters the enormous gap between its human nature and God's divine wisdom and light and moves up the 10-step ladder of ascent towards God.

It just kept going through my head and I just kept listening to it and singing the chorus over and over to myself. I didn't even know the lyrics but when I looked them up? As usual it all made sense. It might just be an obscure b-side/out take from a pop record to most.

Not to me. Not anymore.

Rise up!

Indeed.

I love you honey.
