"Faithful"

"Faithful" is also a word used to commend believers for their quality of steadfast endurance (e.g., 1 Co 4:17; Eph 6:21; Col 1:7; 4:7). Indeed, "the faithful" is used in some passages as a way of saying "believers" (e.g., Eph 1:1).

Paul is particularly aware that God has committed to him, as to every believer, the responsibility of using his gifts to serve others. "It is required that those with who have been given a trust must prove faithful," he writes in 1 Co 4:2.
